On February 28, 2024, while the SEA TRAIN was docked in Ringaskiddy Port, Ireland, the PSC boarded the ship for inspection and found the following deficiencies:

1, Rescue boat fuel stock is not full.

2, Compass error record not updated properly,Magnetic compass could not 

be Visible from coning position upon inspection,but rectified at time

of inspection.

3. Upon interrogating the Officers regarding the past passage,it was found

   that one of the watch keeping officers was found to have very little

familiarity with basic functions of the ECDIS found on board

namely; verification of updates,safety depth settings,lookahead

concept.

4, Galley extraction fans -filters coated in grease -to clean

5. Cockroaches were found in the kitchen.

 

The company carried out meeting and makes the following summary:

 

1. The ship self inspection before arriving at the port was not carefully implemented, the crew was slack and not effective, the ship leaders failed to pay good attention for the inspection, Strictly supervise and carefully review to prevent similar deficiencies in the future.

2. The ship management department failed to conduct in-depth supervision, became a paper work and failed to achieve ship-shore consistency. There were deficiencies in the details of supervision and management which were not found and implemented in time, and there were loopholes in ship supervision. In the future, we should study deeply and do practical things. Keep effective communication with the ship.

3, for the defects found in the European PSC inspection, some could be understood, some should not, especially the kitchen there were two items, it is low-level mistake caused by inaction should not occur, Southeast Asia level should not be so evenly, it is lack of professionalism.

4, the Captain is the Captain of the whole ship, the C/E is the C/E of the whole ship, They must closely cooperate, strict manage ship and enhance crew's working enthusiasm, and try to improve the whole ship management together , in order to do a good job in the management and maintenance of the whole ship.

5. The company leaders should supervise the ship management department to pay attention to the details of the crew recruitment, the before boarding training should be strictly implemented in accordance with the system. For example, the C/E conduct routine inspection of the engine room every morning and every night; Air scavenging box should be inspected at every port; The C/E organize emergency equipment inspection every week. Specific important things, not only look at the paperwork, but also look at photos, videos. The main engine fuel consumption, speed, scavenging, load and other specific matters should also continue to pay attention. Do not use meetings to implement meetings, and use documents to implement documents. For any crew disobeying the ship leadership management, work slackly, the company will not tolerate dismissal at any port at any time, We must not make a high-end ship in Europe and the United States into a low-end level in Southeast Asia, we must have the determination to Acknowledge and correct deficiencies.

 

Strengthen ship management is always on the way, and we,as seafarers need to make continuous efforts to improve the level of ship management, so that we can take a foothold in the increasingly fierce international shipping market. The life on the ship is monotonous, also need to overcome the effects of bad weather to ensure the safety of navigation and work alone with away from familywe could understand it is not easy work. In particular, it is worth mentioning that in the recent two times of cleaning cargo holds, all crew members under the lead of the Captain, C/E and C/O worked overtime to complete the sweeps in timealso utilize the time during cargo loading and unloading intervals, to ensure the smooth execution of the voyage; When loading in Norway, reasonable adjustment of hatch coaming air draft, to overcome the unfavorable factors of 4 crew member absent, multiple times berth and unberth for loading full cargo.
